Sarah Paquet currently serves as Assistant Director of Choral Activities at Smith College, where she conducts the Smith College Chorus and teaches voice lessons and aural skills classes. Her past appointments include director roles at Avon Old Farms School (Avon, CT), University of Detroit Jesuit High School (Detroit, MI), and St. Mary Student Parish (Ann Arbor, MI). She has conducted the Yale Glee Club, Marquand Chapel Choir of Yale Divinity School, Westover Glee Club, and Cantata Academy Chorale of Detroit, MI.Sarah conducted scenes from Tawnie Olson's opera Sanctuary and Storm in its premiere performance at the 2018 Women Composers Festival of Hartford. In 2015, she was a Conducting Fellow at the Norfolk Choral Conducting Workshop. She has studied conducting with Marguerite Brooks, Jeffrey Douma, Simon Carrington, David Hill, Paul Rardin, Eugene Rogers, and Masaaki Suzuki. A mezzo-soprano, Sarah has sung professionally with Yale Schola Cantorum, Schola Antiqua of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in New Haven, CT, and Audivi.A native Michigander, Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from the University of Michigan and a Master of Music degree in choral conducting from Yale University.
