Addy Sterrett is a vocalist based in Los Angeles. Her interests include sacred music of the baroque, performing new works, and singing as a chorister and ensemble member. Recent and upcoming highlights include a staged production of Schütz's Musikalische Exequien with the Los Angeles Master Chorale directed by Peter Sellars, singing backup vocals and opening for Björk’s Cornucopia tour, the premiere of William Cooper’s St. Luke Passion, and her Walt Disney Concert Hall solo debut in Faure's Requiem with the LA Master Chorale. Addy was the 2022 recipient of the Linn Maxwell Keller Distinguished Bach Musician Award, earning her the top prize and a future engagement with the Grand Rapids Symphony. Addy is a roster member of the LA Master Chorale where she enjoys exploring a wide range of choral repertoire while sharing the stage with her brilliant and versatile colleagues. She has also sung with Seraphic Fire, Ensemble Altera, the Choir at St. James Episcopal Church in Los Angeles, and Tonality.
Addy is a graduate of Yale University’s Institute of Sacred Music where she studied Early Music Voice Performance. At Yale, she had the privilege of performing cantatas and masterworks of the baroque with Masaaki Suzuki, David Hill, and Simon Carrington. Raised in a small town in northern Michigan, Addy studied at Interlochen Arts Academy before her education and professional engagements afforded her to travel all over the United States, Europe, and Asia. Addy is the daughter of two foresters and is deeply inspired by the beauty of our world, spending every moment possible hiking, camping, or simply engaging with nature
